Scrapathon mini album

At last I am able to upload some of the pictures of the mini album we created at our Pics 'n Tales Scrapathon on Friday night... Sorry for the delay, girls!!

The idea was to keep it simple and "clean", use lots of stamping and lots of "white space", and also to scrap on the photo, instead of the background page. Here are a few examples:

Since we did not give the album a specific title, the theme was really up to each individual. In the end, all the albums were about loved ones. Our significant others, children, grandchildren, siblings and families. They all looked different but they all had one thing in common: they were made with love, and were GORGEOUS!

Well done girls, for staying 'till breakfast, and thank you for a wonderful time. We should do this again soon (as in next year...)!

Scrapapthon time again!

Yip, it is time for our annual Scrapathon again! We will be teaching three classes, to take us right through the night on 15 June! We will have a special fathers day card and gift class, a single page layout and an entire mini album, all to be completed before the sun rises on the 16th! To keep us awake, we will also have lucky draws right through the night, a lovely dinner and breakfast, and of course, the crazy conversation of ten tired but creative women! We still have 1 spot available, so please book your kits before it is too late!

Here is another picture of some of the detail on yesterday's "Boys" layout, showing some of the detail of the mini booklet for additional photos.

The mini truck is just too adorable for words!

Boys and their toys

This new kit uses the adorable Echo Park "This and That" range of paper and stickers. The colour scheme is cream, brown and teal.  Ink was sprayed on the background cardstock to create a bit of interest, and then I added more detail with stiching and a bit of bling.

A fold out booklet provides space for lots of extra photos. Any photos of the boys / men in your life, with their toys, will work well on this layout. Kits are available from info@picsntales.co.za for R225.

Sentimental Journey

This is the layout that was taught at our monthly Pics 'n Tales class this past Saturday. The layout incorporated a bit of bling, some fun compass embellishments, and a mix of retro and whimsical paper designs. The end result:

To all the ladies who attended the class: thank you for such a good time!

We also had this kit for sale on the day:

'Till next time: happy scrapping!!

Sometimes...

Sometimes one has to put aside the work, and just play. And that is exactly what did this weekend. I stumbled across a Facebook page called "Use your scrapbook stash", and took up the challenge. It was to create a page using  rub-ons, foam stamps, eyelets and 2 sheets of paper, all from your stash.  Well, I had to search for the old foam stamps, but had no trouble it getting the rest of the stash requirements together... Here is my take on the story:

It was such fun to just be able to play for a while! Why don't you also take their challenge and see what you come up with?

Helicopter mania...

It seems that the "traffic" on this blog is starting to pick up, and we are super excited about that! As it happens, we have a kit available that celebrates the kids in our lives, full of the cutest helicopters! Here is a little peek:

This layout combines green, yellow, blue and orange for a typical "boy" colour scheme.  Trust Ezme to use pictures of the most gorgeous girls on bikes in the layout, though! Who said girly layouts have to be pink?!

Another kit that is available, is our "Back to School" layout, where we used a combination of red, soft green and a very light yellow - colours that will go with most school uniforms. So go on, record that first day of school, or high school, or any school event.

Kits available from info@picsntales.co.za, as usual!

Something a little different

We have been quite busy here at Pics 'n Tales lately! We have another kit ready for you...
The latest addition to our current kits, is something different from what we usually do. It is a 6 x 12" mixed media album, which will allow you to play to your heart's content! The album covers are canvasses which you can decorate yourself, and the step-by-step instructions will ensure that you end up with an album which also contains your very own artwork! Here is a little sneak peek....

The inside pages are all slightly smaller than 6 x 12', so that you end up with a few "mini double layouts" which are basically the same size as a normal single layout. Most of these layouts incorporate photographs, and some of them are artworks without photos. The work of mixed media artist Christie Tomlinson was the inspiration behind this album. The theme is about you, your creativity and the fact that you are free to enjoy that aspect of your being.

Lots of paint, ink, rub-ons, doodling and fun in this one!

As usual, the kits are available from info@picsntales.co.za.
